In the early 2004
Finnish scene witnessed the appearance of a fresh
hard dance act called Pain on Creation. The group
included two members: Jarno Paappanen and Marko
Mehtonen. Jarno Paappanen started to play piano in
music school at the age of 7, conntinued for nine
years and produced his first tracks in the year
1990. In 2000 he moved out of the tracker world
and bought decent equipment to make professional
music. Since then he has spent a lot of time and
hard work in practicing the use of music sequencer
and VA synths. |

Marko Mehtonen has
always been a music enthusiastic and was totally
blown away in the year 2000 when he saw and heard
DJ Proteus spinning records. It was a while later
that he met Jarno and noticed they had a lot in
common especially when it comes to music. As Jarno
played some of the tracks he had made, Marko felt
there was that something more he could bring to
the table.

They started to
make music together in the year 2000 and have developed
their truly uncompromising style of music, which is a
hybrid of hardnrg and freeform. The PoC -style consists of
raw leads with beautiful, dark and melancholic melodies.
The live acts are very intense and full of energy and
attitude. During the past years this addition to the FINRG
massive has made many impressive appearances in such
domestic events as Säde, FINRG Tour, Fury and Rush winning
their audience’s hearts with their truely uncompromising
style. Pain on Creation have played alongside with many
artists and djs, for example, Kevin Energy (Uk), DJ Guld
(Japan), Sharkey (Uk), Ultraform (Swe) and of course with
the whole FINRG crew.
The year 2006 has been full of changes. Marko decided to
quit making music, so there was a half-year gig break.
Jarno, however, decided to go on with the same artist name
and started to do live PAs on his own. Let’s see what is
going to happen next! There is a lot of new fresh material
ready-made in the studio and many older full-quality
tracks waiting just to be released.
